Huawei S220-48T4X is a managed L2 switch that is equipped with 48 Gbit ethernet ports and 4 SFP+ slots. It supports all common L2 functions and offers a wide range of management options, including management with the Huawei eKit App, which enables cloud management. Thanks to the Huawei Online Upgrade Platform (HOUP) service, the switch offers the option of automatic one-click updates.

• Flexible Ethernet Networking: In addition to supporting traditional Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), and Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), eKitEngine S220 series switches support the latest Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) standard as defined in ITU-T G.8032. This standard provides millisecond-level protection switching based on traditional Ethernet MAC and bridging functions.
• Diversified Security Control: eKitEngine S220 series switches support multiple security authentication modes, including MAC address authentication and 802.1X authentication. They dynamically deliver user policies such as VLAN, QoS, and ACL. The switches support port-based authentication and multi-mode authentication.
  They also provide protection against DoS attacks and user-targeted attacks, such as bogus DHCP servers, IP/MAC spoofing attacks, and DHCP request flood attacks. They can generate and maintain a DHCP snooping binding table and discard invalid packets. Trusted and untrusted DHCP snooping ports can be specified to ensure that users connect only to an authorized DHCP server.
• Easy Operations and Maintenance: eKitEngine S220 series switches can be managed using SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, SNMPv3, CLI, web system, and SSHv2.0, enabling convenient configuration and monitoring.
• PoE Power Supply: PoE models in the eKitEngine S220 series offer several advantages:
  • Fast PoE: The switches can supply power to powered devices (PDs) within seconds upon power-on, whereas common switches take 1 to 3 minutes. In the event of a power failure, the switches continue to power PDs immediately upon restart, minimizing downtime.
  • Perpetual PoE: During switch restart (e.g., software upgrade), the switches continue supplying power to connected PDs, ensuring uninterrupted PoE power supply.
• Smart Upgrade: Based on the Huawei Online Upgrade Platform (HOUP), eKitEngine S220 series switches support automated upgrades. They can obtain version upgrade information, download the latest system software, and perform a one-click upgrade. This feature also supports pre-loading of new software versions, significantly reducing upgrade time and minimizing service interruptions. Automation enables customers to upgrade independently, reducing maintenance costs.
• Cloud Management: The HUAWEI eKit App allows users to configure, monitor, and inspect switches in the cloud, reducing deployment and operation & maintenance (O&M) costs while optimizing network OPEX. eKitEngine S220 series switches support both cloud-based and on-premise management, which can be flexibly switched as needed to ensure smooth evolution and maximize return on investment (ROI).
