Extensibility
On the Omnia device you can run your own Linux distribution via eMMC and thus avoid RAM usage. Omnia can also be expanded through the supported 4G and 5G either using a modem or USB 3.0. The second USB 3.0 offers the possibility of additional storage limited only by the capacity of the USB disk.
Openness
Omnia uses an operating system based on OpenWrt. Thanks to extensive documentation, regular updates and development, the software can be modified as needed.
Automatic updates
Unlike most other routers, the Turris Omnia receives automatic system updates throughout its lifetime. Your household is also protected against new cyber threats.
Distributed Adaptive Firewall
All devices with an active Sentinel firewall around the world record and respond in real time to attacks on any of the devices and after evaluating the threat within 2 minutes send an update to other devices , which, thanks to the reaction, already identify the attacker as a threat and will not allow him to endanger the operation of the device or attack/swallow it in any way.
Easy configuration with snapshots and USB flashing
The snapshots function during configuration will allow you to start a new configuration in a "dirty way" and possibly simply return to the original saved one. On the other hand, the configuration uploaded via USB will enable simple deployment in the field and remote retrofitting from the comfort of the office or home.
